Coming up, on May 14th and 15th is the 16th Annual Farm & Tractor Days at the Historic Dry Creek Ranch House (at 6852 Dry Creek Rd.) in Rio Linda.
This annual event is sponsored by the Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society and the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association, Inc.
There will be dozens of antique steam engines, tractors, antique fire trucks and much more. The tractors will also compete in a pulling contest.
The Golden State Draft Horse and Mule Club will show their horse powered machines used for work on a ranch at the turn of the century. There will also be farm animals, a Boy Scout camp, food, games and good times on the site of the Historical Society’s Ranch House.
Built in 1916 by David Smith, the historical Ranch House Museum will be open. Admission and parking is free.
Also, the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District will host their annual Western Barbecue on Saturday from 11a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Snack Bar will also be open both days.
