Just spotted this news this morning on NorthSacBeat.com;
The AMGEN Tour of California released some of it’s routes for the 2011 race, and stage two comes right through Rio Linda.
On May 16th, riders will start at Squaw Valley, climb to 7100 feet at Donner Summit, and then race down the face of the Sierra Nevada along Highway 20. Once turning south at Beale AFB, the peleton will follow Pleasant Grove road, joining East Levee road from Elverta road, across Elkhorn Blvd., to the closed section of East Levee. After reaching Del Paso road, the riders will take Northgate blvd into Downtown Sacramento.
VERSUS will provide live HD coverage of the 2011 Amgen Tour of California.
In past tours, riders such as Lance Armstrong and Levi Leipheimer have participated.
