On April 22, 2018, at approximately 8:40 A.M., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a solo motorcycle traffic collision on Garden Highway west of Powerline Road.
Sometime during the night, a motorcyclist was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Garden Highway when he failed to negotiate a sweeping left turn in the roadway. He left the roadway, rode up a dirt embankment, and was launched into the air. The rider was ejected from the motorcycle and the rider and the motorcycle traveled through the air for a significant distance before colliding with the ground. The collision scene was located by a fisherman the next morning and the rider was pronounced deceased on scene by fire department officials.
Alcohol and speed are suspected to be factors in this collision.
