According to the Sacramento Business Journal, plans will be submitted within the next month for a new retail development in North Natomas, likely to be anchored by a 24 Hour Fitness center.
The project site is about 10 undeveloped acres on the northeast corner of Del Paso Road and Town Center Drive, owned by Lewis Operating Group Co.
The center would resemble an existing one anchored by Safeway across Town Center Drive.
Lewis Operating Group is in talks with 24 Hours Fitness to have a 35,000 to 40,000 square-foot fitness center as the anchor for what’s being called Town Center phase Two.While other retail has struggled, gyms have continued to open new sites. Other center tenants are to include restaurants as well as possibly a day care center, though no tenants are officially on board yet.
The project could have entitlements from the city by year’s end, allowing construction to get underway in the first half of 2019. The project, with a preliminary cost of $16 million to $17 million, would probably be built in phases and take about two years to complete.
