News release from Twin Rivers:
🚨🚨 URGENT 🚨🚨
All Twin Rivers Unified School District schools will be closed Friday, Nov. 16 due to persistent unhealthy air quality conditions. We have monitored air quality conditions the entire week, keeping our students indoors during recess, P.E. and after school programs, based on recommendations from Sacramento County Public Health and the Sacramento Air Quality Management District.
Closing our schools is not a decision we take lightly, but one that has been made after careful consideration and continuous monitoring of the air quality today, which is getting worse. Our top priority is the safety and health of our students and staff. Air quality began to reach near hazardous levels this afternoon, with little indication it will be better Friday.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging and unprecedented situation and we ask that you limit your child’s outdoor activities until air quality improves.
All Twin Rivers schools will resume their normal schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018. Please remember that elementary parent conferences and secondary teacher professional development days are scheduled on Nov. 26-27.
