Tonight the Rio Linda Knights will head east to Foothill high school to take on the 4-0 undefeated Foothill Mustangs.
Foothill hasn’t played the toughest schedule this year, but an undefeated record is nothing to take lightly, regardless of whom they’ve played. This should be a good tune-up for the Knights looking forward to week one of the league play schedule, where they will face Ponderosa at home for the Knights Homecoming game on October 4th.
Knights QB Abraham Banks has been a capable passer this year, throwing 33 passes, completing 17, for 388 yards an 5 touchdowns.
The Knights leading rusher is Cameron Skattebo with 62 carries for 632 yards and 6 touchdowns. Banks has carried the ball often as well, with 50 carries for 581 yards and 7 touchdowns. Together, they account for over 1200 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Kyle Deloney-Spencer leads the team in receiving yards, racking up 182 yards and one touchdown.
On defense, DB Johnny Serrano and LB Ben Pau pace the team with 84 tackles combined, and Serrano has two picks on the year.
Unfortunately, Foothill does not publish statistics.
Last year, the Knights defeated the Mustangs 70-50 at home.
Game time is 7:30pm, at Foothill High School, 5000 McCloud Dr, Sacramento, just east of our community on Elkhorn Blvd.
