According to the Sacramento Business Journal, it looks like Amazon.com will be the tenant of a new 418,000 square foot warehouse newly built at McClellan Park.
An application has been filed with Sacramento County for tenant improvements to the building at 2400 McClellan Park Drive. The application name refers to the Amazon “Ultrafast Fresh” grocery delivery service, announced late last year.
The cost of the improvements is $5.5 million.
Amazon Fresh, which was previously $14.99 per month, is now a free benefit for Prime members.
“Prime members love the convenience of free grocery delivery on Amazon, which is why we’ve made Amazon Fresh a free benefit of Prime, saving customers $14.99 per month. Grocery delivery is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon, and we think this will be one of the most-loved Prime benefits.”
