On September 22, 2020 at approximately 1256 am, The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a call of a solo vehicle collision on Elverta Rd at Northam Dr.
Multiple N. Sacramento CHP units responded to the collision scene. When on the scene the officers learned that Antelope 18-year-old Bradley Johnson and an 18-year old male passenger were in a Pontiac sedan that was traveling at an unknown high rate of speed west on Elverta Rd. east of Northam Dr. before leaving the roadway and colliding with a tree on the north side of the Elverta Road.
Due to the speed and force of impact, the vehicle spun and collided with another tree before subsequently separating into three pieces and ejected both men from the vehicle.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene of the collision and pronounced both parties deceased.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office was notified and responded to the scene.
Elverta Rd. was closed between Northam Dr. and Driver Way for several hours for the collision investigation and for Sacramento County roads to clean up the scene.
Based on witness statements, alcohol is a contributing factor in the collision.
Any persons who may have witnessed this collision or who can provide any additional information regarding this collision should call Officer Greg Zumstein at the North Sacramento Area CHP office at (916) 348-2337, or by cell phone at (916) 798-0975.
