On September 25, 2020 the California Highway Patrol received a call at 9:01pm about a collision at Elkhorn Boulevard and West 2nd Street with a motorcycle rider down in the street.
CHP officers responded to the scene to find a blue Chevrolet Impala driven by a 38-year-old male out of Rio Linda was turning left onto West 2nd Street from Elkhorn Boulevard. As the Impala turned onto West 2nd Street, a black Yamaha R6 motorcycle was traveling west on Elkhorn Boulevard and impacted the right side of the Impala.
The 30-year-old male rider out of Sacramento was ejected from the motorcycle.
Metro Fire responded to the scene to find that the rider of the Yamaha R6 was pronounced dead at approximately 9:08 PM.
Alcohol and/or drugs were not determined to be a factor and the cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
