At approximately 1:20 AM, a traffic collision involving three vehicles occurred at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Myrtle Avenue, in an unincorporated area of Sacramento County. The collision resulted in injuries to four parties and fatal injuries to one passenger.
At approximately 1:18 AM, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) attempted to make an enforcement stop on a 2002 Audi on Auburn Boulevard west of Watt Avenue. The driver of the Audi failed to stop and accelerated northbound on Watt Avenue at high speed.
The SCSO attempted to pursue; however, the suspect’s vehicle sped out of sight near Watt Avenue and Longview Drive. Soon after, in the intersection with Myrtle Avenue, the Audi collided with two other vehicles. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the Audi
passenger, major injuries to the Audi driver, and minor injuries to the occupants of the other two vehicles.
California Highway Patrol personnel from the North Sacramento Area were called to, responded to the collision scene, and assumed investigative responsibilities.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
