Mar-Val Plaza keeps growing as new vendors and businesses fill the vacant spaces.
Reel Bait & Tackle is the latest business to fill one of the previously vacant open spaces at the under-performing property.
Owner Anthony Byers, a long-time local and a graduate of Rio Linda High School, is doing final construction on the space at the southeast end of the plaza, next door to Stubborn Rods and Konnected Apparel. He’s also stocking up with Rods and reels, lures, hooks, bobbers and sinkers, and all the rest of the fishing supplies you could need for a day on the lake. The bait coolers are in, but the bait tanks have yet to be installed.
They will stock Stubborn Rods and Konnected clothing also.
Byers is also planning to stock drinks and snacks, the type that are essential for a fishing trip.
Once things are running smoothly, plans are to expand the focus to bowhunting also. In fact, there’s space for a planned archery range right next door.
Other plans are for RV and boat rentals, Guide services, and even construction equipment rentals.
With 10,000 square feet of available space, unused space available behind him, Byers is poised for fast expansion.
“We’re getting close. We have the ability to expand any which way. If this thing takes off, we can open the whole thing up.” says Byers.
Reel Bait & Tackle hopes to open at the beginning of June, perhaps June 4th, with a proper Grand Opening to follow.
