AT&T has filed plans with Sacramento County to place an 80-foot cellular communications tower at O and Front Streets in Rio Linda.
This tower would be part of the AT&T FirstNet network, primarily for public safety and first responders.
This would be right at the corner of O and Front, on Aerial Lift Co. property.
In the proposal, AT&T is seeking a use permit to allow the new wireless communications facility, and a Special Development Permit to allow the proposed project to deviate from Sacramento County planning and development standards:
- The maximum allowable height per Section 3.6.7.A, Table 3.6.2 is 55 feet. The proposed height is 80 feet.
- The minimum required separation from the public right of way is 25 feet. The proposed separation is 6 feet.
- The minimum required separation from Group 1 Zone property is three times the height of the tower, which is 240 feet. The current proposed location would not comply on the north and west sides.
AT&T is also seeking a design review to determine compliance with the Sacramento County Countywide Design Guidelines.
This will be heard at the Sacramento County Project review committee on Wednesday, September 13th at 9am. This is a teleconference meeting only.
