On October 8, 2023, at approximately 11:30 PM, the 7-11 convenience store on Elkhorn Boulevard in Rio Linda was terrorized after a nearby sideshow when dozens of individuals vandalized and looted the store. While Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Patrol deputies were on scene approximately five minutes after the call, those responsible for the damages and looting had already fled the scene.
Deputies and detectives from the Sheriff’s Property Crimes Bureau began their investigation, canvassing the area and attempting to locate witnesses. Their investigation showed that some of these suspects are likely from the Bay Area.
