Donly C. “Bud” Gray, III, (76), of Sacramento, California, passed away on November 4, 2023.
Donly, fondly known as Buddy, was born to Donly and Helen Gray, on November 29, 1946, in Sacramento. He was an Auto Body Repair Technician and a Truck Driver for the family business, Gray’s Trucking of Riego, CA.
Buddy is survived by his wife Carolyn and his two daughters, Shannon Gray-Nystrom and Heather Gray. He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Martin, Donna Lentz, Shirley Stockwell, and Jane Lynch, and his brother Duane Gray. Bud was predeceased by his parents, Donly Gray Jr. and Helen Gray as well as his brother, Robert “Bobby” Gray.
Bud possessed a laid-back, happy personality. He laughed easily, smiled effusively, and didn’t sweat the small stuff. He loved cars (especially his old Ford truck) and fishing. He especially loved his family and has always remained close to his siblings. He lived next door to his parents for many years on the family property and enjoyed the country lifestyle. Buddy will be truly missed.
A viewing and funeral services will be held on November 17th at Sunset Lawn, Chapel of the Chimes at 4701 Marysville Blvd. in Sacramento. The viewing will begin at 10am and the service will follow at 1pm with a reception afterwards.
