IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced its weekly award winners for Week 2, highlighting standout performances from Arizona State, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State.
Offensive Player of the Week: Cam Skattebo, Arizona State
Cam Skattebo, a running back from Rio Linda, California, was also named the Associated Press national player of the week for his exceptional performance in Arizona State’s victory over Mississippi State. He led the nation in yards from scrimmage with 297 yards, including a career-high 262 rushing yards. Skattebo’s 33 carries are the FBS single-game high so far this season, and his 12 runs of at least 10 yards lead the nation.
Defensive Player of the Week: Nick Martin, Oklahoma State
Nick Martin, a linebacker, played a key role in Oklahoma State’s double-overtime victory over Arkansas. He recorded 16 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three quarterback hurries. Martin’s performance was crucial in stopping Arkansas’s momentum and helping the Cowboys secure the win.
Newcomer of the Week: Obi Ezeigbo, Oklahoma State
Obi Ezeigbo, a defensive end who transferred to Oklahoma State from NCAA Division II Gannon University, made a significant impact in his first season. He recorded nine total tackles and two sacks in the victory over Arkansas.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Kyle Konrardy, Iowa State
Kyle Konrardy, a redshirt freshman kicker, propelled Iowa State to a thrilling 20-19 victory over No. 21 Iowa. His two field goals in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning 54-yard kick, were instrumental in securing the win.
