Rio Linda, CA—Rev up your engines for the 10th Annual Classic Car Show and Swap Meet on Labor Day Weekend, August 29, 2015, hosted by the Cherrietters Car Club to benefit the Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society.
Hundreds of classic and restored vintage cars, stock cars, trucks, dragsters, motorcycles, boats and a special display of vintage tractors will be presented on the manicured greens at the Historic Dry Creek Ranch House located at 6852 Dry Creek Road in Rio Linda.
The festivities begin at 8:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 pm.
Participant Entry Fee: $20 per vehicle. General Public: A $3.00 donation per car at the gate!
This annual “open show” also features tours of the historical ranch house (built in 1916), local craftsmen, a farmers market and a swap meet. Relax and enjoy food and ice cold drinks under the 100-year-old oak trees on 145 acres of farm land.
“This family friendly show seems to get bigger and better every year with classic cars like a 1933 Ford Coupe and 1928 Roadster,” said Tom Ray, the Historical Society President and longtime member of the Cherrietters Car Club, established in Rio Linda in 1958. “Our volunteer group works hard all year to make this a unique experience for everyone.”
Attendees of the show can talk directly with the vehicle’s owners–who will be on hand to share the history and restoration details about each car.
More than 25 awards will be given to exhibitors. Categories include: People’s Choice Award, The “top 25” and the coveted Cherrietters Award.
There will be a swap meet starting at 7 a.m. with 20 x 20 spaces available for only $20.00. Contact Al Akins at (916) 991-5212 to reserve your space early. Vendors too! Call Jeanne Akins at (916) 991-5252.
