On Wednesday March 23rd, the Rio Linda Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC) will hear the first information on a proposed Rite-Aid pharmacy and Starbucks coffee shop to be built in Rio Linda.
The site specified consists of seven parcels on the northeast corner of Elkhorn Blvd. and Rio Linda Blvd. The site is currently occupied by the defunct First Southern Baptist church, a vacant lot and four homes. This project would bring a pharmacy back to the Rio Linda area, and would place Starbucks right across the street from local long-time favorite, Rio Java.
The planning entitlements to be discussed will be:
- A General Plan amendment
- A Community Plan Amendment
- A Rezone
- A Use Permit to allow an amplified noise device within 300 feet of a residential zone
- A Design Review to conform to Commercial Development Standards
The monthly Rio Linda CPAC meeting is held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7pm, in the Rio Linda Depot Visitors’ Center, 6730 Front Street in Rio Linda.
