On June 18, 2016, between the hours of 2:00 am and 6:00 am, Mr. Berkley Austin Dorfer, at the time a 20 year old male from Sacramento, was driving a red and white 1993 Ford F-250 eastbound on Elverta Road east of Palladay Road at an unknown speed.
Ms. Donna Lee Zurfluh was walking eastbound Elverta Road on the south side of the roadway. For an unknown reason, the Ford hit Ms. Zurfluh.
Mr. Dorfer fled the scene in the Ford.
Ms. Zurfluh was pronounced dead at the collision scene.
On August 23, 2017, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for Mr. Dorfer for Felony hit and run; Misdeameanor driving without a valid California Driver License and failure to provide proof of insurance at a collision scene.
On August 24, 2017, at approximately 11:00 am, Mr. Dorfer willingly turned himself into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
This investigation is still ongoing.
