Rio Linda Lions Club
2017 has come to an end and as I reminisce about this wonderful year, I am thinking. The Rio Linda Lions Club is totally awesome! We had many firsts this past year. We hosted our first Third Grade Reading Challenge and gave away 9 Kindles to some really cool kids. We erected not one but 2 Welcome to Rio Linda Signs. We did all this while continuing on with our traditional giving by hosting a speaker contest and giving cash prizes and providing 2 scholarships to deserving RLHS seniors. Our Ruby’s Basket program provided toys, Christmas dinner and a lot of additional food to 70 families for a total of 326 people served and 15 needy senior citizens.
Our club has a lot of fun working hard to earn money to make these wonderful projects happen. That being said, we are looking forward to our 37th Annual Beef Stew and Pie on March 24, 2018 and, we are proud to announce that we are hosting the 1st Annual Rio Linda Lions Rubber Ducky Derby on April 28th. Please don’t forget our Signature Steak and Lake on August 25th. We hope to see you at all of these events.
The Rio Linda Lions Club is seeking civic-minded men and women to join them in making a difference in the Rio Linda/Elverta community. Our club gives members an opportunity to advance worthy causes, serve with friends, and become leaders. This club means a lot to our Lions, but it means so much more to the people we serve.
