Agnes “Louise” Murphy Moscrop passed away at her home on March 19th in Citrus Heights, CA after a valiant battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) at the age of 71.
Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Louise was born on October 10, 1946, in Mena, AR to her parents, Vernon and Edyth Murphy. She graduated from Rio Linda High School and attended American River College.
Louise met her husband, Dale Moscrop, at a USO Valentine’s dance in 1965. They married in September of the same year and have spent 52 wonderful years together. Louise retired in 2005 after 25 years as an Executive Secretary at the Alta California Regional Center. She loved spending time with family, traveling, and playing cards. She had many wonderful friends and family who loved and supported her during her long struggle with ALS.
Louise is survived by her husband, Dale, daughter, Christine Currier of Citrus Heights, CA, her son, Eric Moscrop of Roseville, CA, grandson Shawn Currier and his wife Alyssa Currier of Honolulu, HI, and granddaughter Elyssa Moscrop of Roseville, CA. She is also survived by her sister, Della “Cloi” Waxstein of Citrus Heights, CA and her brother Alan Murphy and sister-in-law Cheryl Murphy of Dallas, OR.
In lieu of flowers, Louise requested donations to the Sacramento Chapter of the ALS Association.
