Rio Linda, CA – Twin Rivers Unified today announced the appointment of Brian Gross as the new head baseball coach at Rio Linda High School. A 1990 graduate of RLHS, Gross brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the Rio Linda community.
A Passion for Baseball
Gross has been an assistant baseball coach at Rio Linda High School for the past two years. His love for the game, combined with his strong ties to the community, make him an ideal fit for the head coaching position.
“I am honored and thrilled to be named the head baseball coach at Rio Linda High School,” said Gross. “My passion for the game, coupled with my deep connection to this community, fuels my desire to coach and help these young athletes succeed.”
A Distinguished Athlete
As a varsity athlete at Rio Linda High School, Gross excelled in both baseball and basketball. He earned all-league honors and competed in the 1989 CIF Section, Division 2, baseball championship game. His standout high school career culminated in his selection for the Optimist All-Star baseball team in 1990.
Professional Baseball Career
Following graduation, Gross pursued his passion for baseball professionally, playing in the independent league for the Montreal Expos organization in Roanoke, Virginia, and the Minnesota Twins organization in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
A Lifelong Resident
Gross is a lifelong resident of Rio Linda, demonstrating his deep commitment to the community and its youth. His experience and knowledge of the game, combined with his passion for developing young athletes, will undoubtedly benefit the Rio Linda High School baseball program.
