Agencies present: Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department (SSD), California Highway Patrol (CHP), and Sacramento County District 4 Board of Supervisors, Sue Frost.

Officer addressed traffic concerns in the area and at the local schools.

Sgt. Bland introduced the new members of the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) with the Steps Forward Navigators and the SPI Grant. Questions were answered regarding the homeless issues in the area.
SSD Deputy Lauren Milton Deputy Milton discussed changes to Prop 64, legal and illegal outdoor marijuana grows.
Questions were answered regarding Prop 64.
Sgt. Bland talked about crime statistics in the Rio Linda area and Sacramento County overall. Questions were also answered regarding the statistics given to the community members present.
Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) gave a presentation on their role and responsibilities in SSD. The deputies also answered questions on what they can and cannot due in comparison to what you see on television.
Citizens expressed concern regarding the drug problem in the area and what SSD is doing about it.
There was also concern over citizen continuously violating traffic laws and what CHP is doing about it.
The next meeting is scheduled for the 1st Wednesday in January. January 3, 2018.
