The second Saturday in December seems to be the time when Rio Linda settles in for the holidays, and in 2019, it’s no exception. The Rio Linda/Elverta community is ready to celebrate with a full day of events taking place once again this year. Here’s your Saturday Schedule.

Breakfast With Santa

The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District and the Rio Linda Elverta Chamber of Commerce invite you to come and enjoy a FREE morning of breakfast, games, and pictures with Santa.

Holiday Craft Fair
Rio Linda Depot and Visitors Center, 6730 Front Street in Rio Linda
The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Parks District invites you to come out and shop our local small businesses and vendors, to find some unique, handmade gifts and treasures!
Horseback Christmas Caroling with Haulin Hoofs
12pm – 3pm
Sacramento Public Library (Rio Linda Branch) 6724 6th Street in Rio Linda
The Rio Linda Elverta Lions Club presents the 9th annual Haulin Hooves canned food drive. We will be in the neighborhood collecting food for Ruby’s Baskets, a holiday donation charity serving the Rio Linda Elverta community. You can drop off your canned foods at the Rio Linda Library parking lot or meet us along our route. We will be all dressed up in the holiday spirit, singing carols and handing out candy. Vehicles will be following, collecting donations.
4th Annual Rio Linda Elverta Christmas Light Parade
6pm-9pm
Along M Street in Downtown Rio Linda
The 4th annual Rio Linda Elverta Christmas Light Parade is taking place Saturday, December 14th at 6pm. The parade begins at the corner of West 2nd and M Street, and continues appx. one mile east on M Street to Oak Lane. The parade will take place rain or shine. Roads around the parade route will be closed beginning at 4pm. This year, we have added an announcer at Rio Linda Blvd and M Street to announce the parade entries, play Christmas music, and serve as our west end parade host. As usual, we will have an announcer at Depot Park as well. Sacramento’s official Christmas Music Station, Mix96, will be joining us at Depot Park to provide our holiday soundtrack and provide some fun giveaways.
