Sheriff’s investigators suspect gang involvement.
In the early hours of Wednesday, March 27, 2024, North Patrol Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 7100 block of Paladin Way, Rio Linda, following reports of a shooting incident. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found that two houses had been fired upon, with one house being hit significantly more than the other, suggesting it was the primary target.
Crime Scene Investigators at the location collected over 30 bullet casings and additional pieces of potential evidence. In their investigation, deputies leveraged neighborhood surveillance footage that had captured the event. The case has escalated to the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit, under the suspicion that the incident is gang-related.
