One week from tonight, on Thursday May 30th, the 2024 graduating class of Rio Linda High School will be making their way across the stage to collect diplomas, give speeches and toss mortarboard caps into the air. However, there are some major changes this year from past years.
Thanks to RLHS Principal Dierdre Barlow for sending over this critical information about this year’s graduation ceremony.
- This year, graduation will be taking place on May 30th at 7pm at Heart Health Field at CalExpo, not at Sutter Health Park as in previous years.
- Each graduate will receive 10 tickets when ALL items have been checked in during Senior Check in Day (Tuesday, May 28th). The 10 tickets given to the student will all be seats together. If you wish to purchase additional tickets, RLHS currently has them on sale in our student center for $10 each. Ticket sales will happen every day except this FRIDAY. We will be selling tickets the day of graduation AND also at graduation. Parking is $10.
- If you choose to purchase a ticket(s) at graduation, there will be NO CASH accepted. It will be QR code only. If you choose to purchase with cash, please come to the student center BEFORE graduation.

- RLHS graduation will be live on Youtube, but on cable TV it will play at 9am on May 31 on Ch. 15, then again on May 31 at 9am.
- Attached is the Cal Expo State Fair Code of Conduct. Please take a look at this as Cal Expo security and police will be in charge of families coming into the facility.
- Snack Bar will be open and it is cashless. No CASH accepted.
- RLHS has “Proud parent of a RLHS graduate” t-shirts on sale. T-shirts are sold for $10 each in our student store. Cash or credit is accepted.
Just as last year, Rio Linda Online will be on-scene shooting high-quality candid photos that we will make available to parents and graduates for free.
