A serious storm will move through Wednesday evening bringing rain locally and snow in the mountains.
SACRAMENTO — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for the Sacramento area from 4 p.m. Wednesday through early Thursday morning as a powerful storm moves through the area.
The NWS warns, “Rain totals during this time frame of up to 3 inches in the Valley & 6 inches over the foothills could cause localized flooding. Be prepared!”
The agency is imploring people to take action now to protect their homes and properties. If your home or business is in an area that is prone to flooding, sandbags should be placed today or tomorrow morning. You should also move to higher ground, if necessary.
Areas impacted by recent wildfires will be especially vulnerable to flooding and mudslides.
