Stressing the importance of offering nutritious meals to children during the summer months, the Twin Rivers Unified School District (TRUSD) announces its free summer nutrition program for children 18 years of age and under.
“This program helps fills a void,” says Director of Nutrition Services Jill Van Dyke. “We are helping parents meet the nutritional needs of their children during the summer months when free and reduced-price school meals are typically unavailable.”
TRUSD is offering free meals at 22 schools and sponsoring seven other locations.
The Summer Food Service Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the California Department of Education. TRUSD is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
