After 10 months and a strong run at the section title, head football Coach Justin Reber has resigned from his position at Rio Linda High School, effective today 1/5/2014.
His resignation letter reads as follows;
Coach Morris, Coaches and TCD members,
Please find this as my official letter of resignation as Head football coach at Rio Linda High School. This move has been tougher than I thought, in terms of being away from my daughter. Making the travel twice a month is not only difficult, but it is just not enough time. A lot of things in my life have been put into perspective over the last few months. I have been offered a full time job with full benefits back down by my daughter that I cannot pass up.
Thank you all for the past 10 months as part of the Knight community. I wish you all good luck and I am positive the future is brighter at Rio Linda.
Justin Reber
Coach Reber had big shoes to fill after Coach Michael Morris handed over the reins last year. He coached the team to a 10-3 season overall (4-2 in league play). The Knights went deep into the playoffs and scored two upset wins over Placer and Sierra which prep football analysts had pegged for losses.
We thank him for his efforts in a difficult transition year and wish him the best in the future.
