According to the Sacramento Business Journal, today Kaiser Permanente closed escrow on 37 acres in North Natomas area east of I-5 and north of I-80.

Trish Rodriguez, interim senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente Sacramento and also senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento has reached out to clarify KP’s plans for the property:
“Recently, Kaiser Permanente entered into an agreement to purchase 37 acres in Natomas. This land is intended to replace the existing 12-acre parcel we currently own in Natomas that is no longer of sufficient size to accommodate our plans to build an outpatient medical facility in the future. We have no plans to build a hospital at this site as our intent remains to do so at the Railyards.”
Many healthcare-related projects have taken place in Natomas recently; Centene Corp has developed property east of I-5 near Arena Drive, The Arco Arena property will be developed into a hospital by California Northstate University, and Kaiser owns another 14 or so acres near the Promenade in Natomas.
