Your TCC Champion #3 Rio Linda Lady Knights (25-5) will face #1 Vanden (27-3) at Sleep Train Arena, Friday at 7:30pm for the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III title.
The Lady Knights, led by freshman Makaila Sanders (21.5 points), topped #7 Florin 71-67 on Tuesday to reach the finals.
This will be a challenge for our girls. Vanden is no pushover. Ranked #12 in the State, the average margin of victory for the Vanden High girls basketball team in the first two rounds of the playoffs was 40.5 points and the Vikings sailed past No. 4 Patterson in an 85-46 blowout at Cosumnes River College on Tuesday.
Coach Jerry Huffines says “Vanden has many talented players and are well coached. …We will have our hands full. But our kids have a lot of heart and passion, they will give it their best shot!”
