HELLO NEIGHBOR!
The Rio Linda Elverta Visions Task Force will be hosting National Night Out, Tuesday, August 2nd at the new Rio Linda Library.
Once upon a time, we kept our porch lights on. We opened the door even if we didn’t know who rang the bell. And we could always leave the back door unlocked during the day.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
The program takes place annually on the first Tuesday of August. Neighbors participate across thousands of communities from all 50 states, United States territories, Canadian
cities, and military bases worldwide. Neighborhoods across the nation will host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Join us on August 2nd at the new library (Rio Linda Elementary School) for –free– hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy and sno-cones. There will be music, and dancing and neighbors and a lot of fun!
Rio Linda’s National Night out is hosted by the Rio Linda/Elverta Visions Task Force in association with Rio Linda/Elverta Chamber of Commerce, Rio Linda Library, Rio Linda Lions Club, Rio Linda Food Closet/REACH, and others.
