Nordstrom Closing Arden Fair Store

After being a mall anchor for nearly 30 years, the Nordstrom department store at Arden Fair mall will not reopen after the coronavirus SIP order is rescinded.

The Sacramento Bee reports that the closure will cost 375 employees their jobs, and roughly $5 million in sales tax.

The decision was made based on the coronavirus shutdown and recent financial struggles for brick and mortar stores competing against online retailers.

In a press release issued Tuesday, the company said that they plan to “permanently close 16 full-line stores.”

Arden Fair Mall has been shuttered since March 17.
