A good Samaritan was stabbed while attempting to intervene in a confrontation between a store employee and another individual in North Highlands, authorities report.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Friday 5/17 at the Watt Towne Center on the northeast corner of Elkhorn Boulevard and Watt Avenue. A store employee confronted a person, believed to be homeless, in the parking lot and tried to make them leave. It’s unclear how the altercation started, but a fight broke out between the employee and the individual.
During the fight, two bystanders stepped in to help. One of these bystanders was stabbed at least twice by the individual involved in the altercation. The injured person is expected to survive.
Sheriff’s Department sources say they’ve arrested suspect Aaron Gonzales for the stabbing.
