The Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District is excited to announce the opening of their newest playground. Located in Northbrook Park at 2811 Tourmaline Way in Antelope, CA, this playground structure has been eagerly anticipated for some time by the Northbrook community.
The ribbon cutting will take place on Tuesday, July 24 at 6:00pm at the park site. The Community Association and our Board of Directors will be on hand to greet residents and speak about the parks newest feature.
The original playground was destroyed by vandalism and fire a number of years ago. Over the past few years community residents have created a neighborhood association and have made it their mission to take the park back and have it brought back to its original glory.
The replacement of the playground is yet another step in achieving this goal. The new playground, installed by Community Playgrounds, Inc. is situated on a 3850 square foot area located in the middle of the park. Over 400 square feet has a poured-in-place rubber surface to make ease of access easier for all participants.
Amenities include a full climbing and play structure with slides; both toddler and children’s swings; spinners; climbing boulders; and new benches for parents/guardians to relax on. This project was approved in the 2017-18 Recreation and Park District budget.
