Sharon Gail (Penick) Meadows passed away on February 23, 2024. Sharon lost her fight with cancer at the age of 80 in her home of 62 years, located in Elverta, California. She was surrounded by loved ones.
Sharon was born in Sacramento, California on 11-19-1943 a WWII baby. Sharon worked for the County of Sacramento Welfare Department helping others for approximately 38 years. After her retirement, she started working for the Robla School District as a Teacher’s Aide for another 10 years.
Sharon was always helping others, volunteering for youth organizations, assisting at food banks, asking for donations instead of gifts for her birthday, etc.
Sharon and Lin spent much of their time together traveling the United States of America.
Sharon often made a huge deal out of other people’s birthdays even when they were reluctant.
Sharon was the Matriarch of our family and was very big on keeping the extended family together, often planning family reunions, and taking her children to see grandparents, great-aunts, uncles, and everybody in between.
Sharon’s parents Henry Dewey Penick and June Marie Kimrey preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her little brother Samuel Dale Penick, and little sister Kathryn June John.
Sharon is survived by her husband of over 40 years Lindle Gail Meadows, daughter Sheronnia Little, son Terry Souza and his wife Deborah, stepchildren Marty Meadows, Debbie Risse, and Cindy Meadows, grandchildren Ricky Little, Sabrina Ballestero, Terry Souza, Tylor Souza, Kenny Souza, Zane Meadows, Seth Davis, Max Meadows, Jedidiah Risse, Linda Millwee, Cala Risse, and many great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers Michael Kimrey, David Penick, and Daniel Kimrey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Reddy of the oncology department at Sutter Roseville for his care, kindness, and compassion for our beloved Sharon.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at 9:00 am. At Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes. The address is 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacramento Ca. 95838. Following the services we will gather to share memories of Sharon at the Rio Linda Grange. Address 1315 G Street RIo Linda Ca. 95673.”
