On September 16, 2017, at approximately 4:55 p.m., a female from Sacramento was driving a 2001 gray Toyota Camry southbound on East Levee Rd south of Elverta Rd at a high rate of speed. As the roadway curved to the right the driver continued straight, drifting off the road to the left then overcorrected to the right until she veered off the road, overturning several times down a steep embankment. The female driver was wearing her seatbelt but was killed upon impact.
Sacramento Metro Fire responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased. The CHP handled the collision investigation. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision.
