The final deadline for the second installment of 2019-20 Secured Property Tax is April 10, 2020. Property tax due dates and delinquency dates are established by the state and cannot be adjusted by counties.
Due to the current public health emergency, the Sacramento County Department of Finance strongly encourages customers who own property in Sacramento County to pay property taxes online, via telephone, or by check through the U.S. postal system (U.S. Postal Service, UPS, Fed Ex). Paying online, by phone or by mail is the best way to protect customers and employees during the crisis.
- To pay online, visit the Online Property Tax Bill Information System. There is no fee for paying via online check (e-check).
- For payment by phone call (844) 430-2823.
- For paper checks, use the mailing address P.O. Box 508, Sacramento, CA 95812-0508
Property tax specialists are available by phone from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday at (916) 874-6622. Customers may also submit inquiries via email to TaxSecured@saccounty.net. Inquiries will be answered within two business days.
The cashier window at 700 H St. will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 10, and with adjustments in place so that customers will stand six feet apart.
Property taxes are used by local jurisdictions such as Sacramento County, cities, special districts, and school districts to provide public health, law enforcement, fire protection, emergency response, school services, and much more. This money ensures the local jurisdictions can provide services, pay expenses, and meet payroll requirements.
