Yesterday we were invited to Rio Java coffee shop on Oak Lane for a taste of what’s to come, namely, Rio Java’s new drink recipes.
With names like Friday Night Lights, The Arches and Depot Station, each drink represents a local organization, non-profit or charity.
Tonia Silva, who owns Rio Java with her husband Anthony, says “The best part is that Rio Java Coffee House is giving 5% of select drink sales to the charity that they represent! From Little League to the Grange, to Jr. Knights and BMX…and more! Support your favorite local charity while you caffeinate!”
(The drinks can be customized without endangering the charitable contribution.)
Many representatives of our community organizations were in attendance as we tried many different drinks and an expansive charcuterie, and enjoyed a photo booth!
Rio Java can be found at 956 Oak Lane in Rio Linda, in the MarVal Plaza shopping center.
