Letter to the Editor:
I would like to give the community an update on the Rio Linda Elementary School site.
The Keema Education Center located at the site off 6th Street is operational and doing well. The Twin Rivers District has installed a bike rack for students.
A portable classroom was moved to a transportation site for use by bus drivers.
A portable storage unit will be moved to the Dry Creek School site for a proposed outdoor education center.
These units were moved to make room for the new library facilities.
TRUSD food services continues to operate of the Rio Linda multi purpose room and kitchen.I am also pleased to report that the Carol Fanchar and Jay Baumgartner memorial sites have been protected and preserved by the contractor of the conversion of “H” wing for the Sacramento County Library site.
Unfortunately, the current library conversion site has suffered some vandalism and damage during the conversion. As a result, Peterson Development hired Capitol Private Patrol to protect the site during the remainder of the re-conversion project. The TRUSD School Police and Sacramento County Sheriff Dept. continue to be security for the Rio Linda site.
I would like to thank Person Development and Tim Shadko, Superintendent of the job site, Mike Braff, Twin Rivers USD Facilities Department, Sal Lorta, TRUSD Maintenance Supervisor, Beth Brose, project manager, and Lois Ross of the Sacramento County Library for their cooperation to make this project a reality. We look forward to the opening of our new County Library in the near future.
Sincerely

Bob Bastian
TRUSD Board Member. Area 4
