The Rio Linda High School track and field team kicked off their season with a bang, showcasing incredible talent and determination. Many athletes experienced their first-ever meet, and despite limited practice time, they delivered impressive results. Standout performances were seen across various events, with multiple Knights placing high in their respective categories.
The day culminated in a thrilling finish for the 4x400m relays. After an eight-hour meet, our final eight athletes, four boys and four girls, took to the track. Both teams delivered nail-biting performances, with anchor runners Carlos and Madison making incredible come-from-behind surges to secure first and second place finishes, respectively. This collective team showing is being hailed as the best meet results for the Knights since the 2018-2019 seasons! The energy and excitement were palpable, leaving many athletes eager for the rest of the season.
