Sacramento, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2016) — Sacramento Public Library invites the community to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Rio Linda Library on Tuesday, Sept. 27 from 5-8 p.m. at 631 L St. in Rio Linda.
The anniversary event will include a presentation of historical photographs and a light meal made from locally grown and donated ingredients. Visitors can also enjoy live music from The Good Time Players Ukulele Band of Elverta and hear about local history from the Rio Linda Historical Society. Plus, they can take home a commemorative button to celebrate the centennial.
The Rio Linda Library has been proudly serving its community since the opening of the original branch on September 26, 1916, in space shared with the post office in Huston’s Grocery Store on Front Street.
The anniversary celebration is made possible with the support of the Friends of the Rio Linda Library and the Rio Linda Historical Society.
