The Rio Linda Knights open the 2018 prep football season in a familiar place versus Center High School, but in a brand new, unfamiliar league as they visit Center High tomorrow night (8/16).
The Knights move from the Tri-County Conference to the all new Foothill Valley League this year. The FVL consists of Lincoln, Oakmont, Ponderosa, Placer, Rio Linda and Nevada Union.
The Knights home opener will be August 24 versus Pioneer of Woodland.
Being part of a smaller six-team league means the Knights don’t begin league play until September 28th, when they visit Ponderosa High School in Shingle Springs.
The Knights return a veteran group of players from last year, when they ended the season with a 7-5 overall record, 3-3 in league play. 2018 also sees the return of Head Coach Jack Garceau, his second year at the helm.
