According to someone in attendance, last night’s board meeting was a doozy!
Basically a crazy meeting. Â It started out with the board members wanting Mary Harris to resign as president, so a meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday night. Â They will ask her to resign and then appoint someone else as president. Don’t miss it! I think Vivien wants to be president now!
Interesting turn of events… all the negative press and investigations and citations may finally have taken it’s toll.
It appears that the rest of the board have seen the light. Although their path to success (or road to ruin) has yet to be revealed, removing Mary Harris is a step in the right direction. Harris has stymied every effort to increase rates for the past 8 years. These rate increases are sorely needed to fund new wells, infrastructure refurbishment, and yes… employee salaries. Salaries at the RLECWD are the lowest in Sacramento county, which leads to the district acting as a training ground for operators who then bolt at the first sign of greener pockets.
According to people in attendance at Monday’s meeting;
Vivien has reached a level of craziness yet unseen. Â She talks when she wants to a goes on and on and on AND, if she has to, she yells and tries to drown out everyone else.
Mary continued to gavel her repeatedly tonight, until Vivien threatened to shove the gavel down Mary’s throat.
Well, this is no good… and we don’t know what she has in store for the district. A new storage tank? Where is the water going to come from to fill it?
It was interesting to hear Faye Wilder and Charlotte Dillon tell the board just how disgusted they were with the board and tell Vivien she should never have been elected. All in all, it was a great evening and there were some angry people who usually co-sign the board’s foolish decision. Â I guess they are getting the idea!
Faye Wilder is angry with Vivien? We may have to start a coat drive for the people in hell.
The meeting to unseat Mary Harris is taking place at Orchard Elementary, at 6:30pm. Everyone should be there to voice their displeasure with what the grand jury called a “dysfunctional board of directors”. I know I won’t miss it.
