Abigail Prado, 29, of Rio Linda, and Dimaggio Cook, 44, both died in a Christmas Day crash on Business-80 in Sacramento.
The collision was reported about 6 a.m. on December 25th, according to the Sacramento County Coroner. The collision took place on Business-80 between Watt and Fulton avenues.
A driver of a Dodge Durango with one passenger was traveling southbound on Business-80. The vehicle allegedly veered off the roadway for an unknown reason, according to ABC10 News. The Dodge then rolled down an embankment and overturned.
Just after 6:30 a.m., emergency workers and paramedics came to the crash scene to help the occupants. They located both the driver and passenger who were ejected from the vehicle. Subsequently, both Prado and Cook suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
It’s unknown at this time which person was driving the vehicle and which was a passenger, and the coroner did not specify this information.
Meanwhile, it’s unknown at this time what led to the fatal collision on Business-80.
Detectives have been assigned to handle the case and to investigate the precise cause of the fatal crash.
