Rio Linda’s Victor Moreno Joins California Highway Patrol’s Ranks
The Rio Linda community is celebrating a major achievement as Victor Moreno, a 2021 graduate of Rio Linda High School, has successfully completed the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Academy’s rigorous training program. Officer Moreno is now assigned to the CHP’s Solano Area office, where he will serve and protect the community.
Before joining the CHP, Moreno studied nursing at Sierra College in Rocklin, demonstrating his commitment to serving others. The CHP Academy’s comprehensive training program equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in law enforcement.
The academy’s curriculum includes Crisis Intervention and Mental Health Response, Patrol Operations and Crash Investigation, Traffic Control and Emergency Scene Management, and Community Policing. Cadets also receive training in laws and regulations pertinent to highway patrol responsibilities, communication abilities, ethical conduct, and cultural diversity.
Officer Moreno is part of the CHP’s latest graduating class, which includes 106 new officers who have completed 26 weeks of intensive training. These officers will be deployed across the state, with a focus on addressing the immediate needs of communities while maintaining safety and security throughout California.
CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee emphasized the significance of this graduating class, stating, “These officers are stepping forward at a critical time for California… Their training, dedication, and commitment to service will strengthen our ability to support communities statewide, especially in times of crisis”
“We are incredibly proud of Victor and his achievement,” said Stacey Bastian, Twin Rivers Unified School District Trustee for Rio Linda and Elverta. “His dedication to serving others is a testament to the values and character of our community.”
The Rio Linda community is proud to call Officer Moreno one of its own, and we wish him a successful and fulfilling career in law enforcement.
