From the Roseville Press-Tribune
The Tigers’ running game totaled 442 yards and averaged 10.5 yards per carry, led by senior Casey Lambert with 260 yards in 25 carries. Quarterback Zac Cunha carried six times for 79 yards, Grady Allin six times for 65 yards and Grant Jansen five times for 38 yards.
“Everybody that carried the ball was productive,” Roseville coach Larry Cunha said. “It’s that line up front; if they do the job, then the guys carrying the ball get the benefit.”
Zac Cunha also completed 9 of 15 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown. Cody Lindner caught four passes for 82 yards.
The Tigers ended the first half on the one-foot line. Otherwise, Roseville punted just once, and its only turnover was committed on a special team.
“No turnovers, knock on wood,” Larry Cunha said. “Offensively, we played pretty well.”
Defensively, the Tigers allowed Rio Linda 173 yards passing and 144 rushing, and they visit Folsom on Friday night. Roseville lost twice last season to Folsom, which won the CIF Division II state championship.
“We have to do a little better getting off the field on third down. And fewer penalties,” Cunha said, adding that Folsom is a “different team but still a talented team. It’s certainly going to be a test for us.”
