MCCLELLAN, Calif. – Future college students at Grant Union High School will have the opportunity to hear from Sacramento State University President Dr. Luke Wood on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Dr. Wood will share his inspiring journey with juniors and seniors, highlighting the importance of education and the opportunities available at Sacramento State. The university’s groundbreaking Black Honors College will also be represented at the event, which runs from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in the school auditorium (1400 Grand Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95838).
Born and raised in Rio Linda, a graduate of Rio Linda High School, and a resident for most of the last 50 years. Co-Chair for the Rio Linda Elverta Neighborhood Association, announcer for Rio Linda Knights Football, Rio Linda Christmas Light Parade, and Rio Linda Little League Parade, Original keeper of the Archway Lights, and outspoken advocate for the Rio Linda Elverta community.
