Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects in connection with a 2021 homicide that occurred in North Highlands.
On June 21, 2021, deputies responded to a shooting at an apartment on Oakhollow Drive. The victim, a woman, survived the shooting, but her boyfriend, Wayne Blanchard, was fatally wounded.
After a lengthy investigation, detectives identified 34-year-old Sunnerica Sinohui, her 31-year-old brother David Sinohui, and her boyfriend Dominique Brown as suspects in the murder and attempted murder.
While Dominique Brown has since died in an unrelated incident, Sunnerica Sinohui and David Sinohui were apprehended on September 20, 2024. David Sinohui was arrested in Victorville with the assistance of the Riverside Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau. Sunnerica Sinohui was arrested in Sacramento and is currently being held at the Sacramento County Main Jail without bail.
The investigation into this case involved extensive work by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit. The arrests of Sunnerica and David Sinohui mark a significant step in bringing justice to the victim and their family.
