This past Friday (Dec. 3rd) our three new Rio Linda Elverta Community Water District directors were sworn into office, ending the tenure of Mary Harris, Belinda Paine and Stephanie Seula.
And, just as I wrote last week, the CRAW board didn’t miss a step and scheduled one last special meeting on Thursday night. They must have needed that extra stipend for Christmas. Harris was particularly obscene when she asked for repayment of some personal attorney’s fees. That motion was shot down soundly. Nice try.
Frank Caron, Courtney Caron and Martin Smith take their turn at sorting out this Irwin Allen blockbuster on Monday night (Dec 6th), 7:00pm at the Depot Center.
The agenda looks promising… The 2nd item is the nomination and election of president and vice-president. This should end the reign of Cathy “I’ll second that!” Nelson Hood and her ventriloquist, Vivien Spicer Johnson.
Closed session looks even better, with the potential dismissal of Joe Sherrill and the potential appointment of a new GM. Later in closed session, they will review the performance and dismissal of general council Ravi Mehta.
Finally, back in open session, they will act to rescind 2 previous actions by the CRAW board, the preparation of the grand jury response, and the expenditure of funds for district office security.
The potential for progress is STAGGERING, and right out of the gate. Certainly, they can expect plenty of opposition from Hood and Johnson. I would be surprised if either shows up for the meeting, frankly.
So, this is the beginning… this is what the sane and rational citizens have asked for; reasonable, intelligent, people who will work to repair the water district and supply clean water at a healthy pressure. Not people looking to pad thier bank accounts, or build thier stature in the community, or stair-step to high public office.
