To Staff and the Twin Rivers School Community,
As we head into the wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and a time that centers on gratitude and grace, I want to take a moment to share my thanks to our school community.
TR Families – I am grateful to our parents and families for supporting our students. This week, parents of elementary school children attended parent-teacher conferences, where the school-to-home connection is strengthened in an effort to make sure we are meeting the unique needs of each student. Thank you to our elementary parents for trusting us with your children, and thank you for partnering with our teachers and administrators to make school meaningful for your children.
TR Employees – Since the start of this school year, employees across the district have participated in professional learning opportunities. As we teach our students, learning is a lifelong journey, and I am deeply grateful to the professionals who strive to learn new strategies to increase their instructional effectiveness. Across the district and in every area of work, I know that people come to work every day prepared to do their best in support of one another and our students. Thank you.
TR Community – We are all grateful to the TR community for supporting Measures J and K, which will provide $270 million to improve our school facilities. This year, we have opened state-of-the-art athletic facilities at high schools; we broke ground on a new pool at Foothill High School; we purchased new musical instruments, invested in play equipment, technology, improved lighting, and heating and air conditioning in schools. Now, and thanks to the community’s support, we can continue to ensure our schools are clean, safe and equipped to support excellent education.
TR Students – You are the promise of a bright future. Thank you for taking some time during this holiday break to consider that with education, your possibilities are endless.
I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, one that is full of family, friends, fun and fabulous traditions.
With warm regards,
Steve Martinez, Ed.D.
